One of the simplest ways to give your face an instant lift is by wearing the right shade of lipstick. Once you have found your color, you’ll know it from the very first time you put it on. Getting it to last all day, however, can be a bit tricky. Here’s a quick look at four simple tips you can use to keep your lips looking great all day long.
Apply liner on all of your lips
Lip liner is meant to outline your lips, but when you apply it over them, it helps your lipstick to last longer. The liner is much drier than lipstick and acts as an adhesive for the lip color you apply.
Put on two coats of lipstick
After one coat of liner, apply one coat of lipstick.
Then take a thin tissue or piece of toilet paper and lay it over your lips. Apply powder makeup with a brush to the tissue, allowing some of the powder to fall through on your lips. The powder helps your lipstick stay on longer. Now, apply another coat of lipstick and powder.
Avoid lip gloss
Lip gloss is very shiny because it’s so wet. Any type of wet lip color will rub off easily. So, next time you’re at the store picking out lipstick, make sure to steer clear of the lip glosses.
Use your finger
Regardless of the shade you’re wearing, there’s no need to blot any of the lipstick off after you apply it. Instead, take your finger and press the lip color into your lips. This helps ensure that the color is evenly applied within the cracks of your lips, which means your lips will be looking luscious all day long.
