Notox: What it is
The term “Notox” refers to a wide range of skincare treatments that mimic the results of Botox. This can include:
- Non-invasive chemical peels
- Facial massage to relax frozen muscles
- Laser treatments that target wrinkles and fine lines
- Skin-firming products
- Glabellar furrow relaxation (GFX), which uses radio frequency to paralyze nerves that cause wrinkles
Notox is less intense than Botox, so the results tend to look more natural. If you have deep wrinkles, Botox alone won’t be enough. You’ll also need to have fillers applied, and these can alter your face shape and make you look different from your natural self. For this reason, some women are wary of getting Botox at all.
If you’ve tried Botox and felt like you were unable to show expressions until the treatment wore off, don’t want to alter your face shape with fillers, or want a more natural appearance, the Notox line of natural facial treatments could be right for you.
Some providers have taken “Notox” to mean applying smaller doses of Botox, getting the wrinkle-erasing benefits of the substance without laving you with a face that appears overdone. Before you seek Notox, clarify what the provider you’re seeing really offers.
