While we all wish we could have fierce eyebrows like Cara Delevingne, sometimes our brow game just isn’t up to par. If your brows are naturally patchy or spotty from years of makeup misuse, here’s how you can grow them back.

Consider using growth-stimulating serums for your sparse brows. There are brow-specific formulas available in the market, but serums for growing eyelashes are great alternatives too. Both contain peptides which encourages hair growth. Before you begin loading your shopping cart with formulas, do a bit of research for a brand that’s right for you.

Modify your makeup method

If makeup misuse is the culprit, change your technique or product. Switch to a liquid or gel formula if your pencil is harsh on your eyebrows. When removing makeup, always gently swipe and in the same direction as your eyebrow hairs.

In the meantime, exfoliate

The gentle friction of a good facial exfoliation can get your brows ready to grow. Use a soft toothbrush or an eyebrow brush to groom your brows daily. Combed brows look elegant and the act promotes faster growth.

Let your brows grow

Put the wax down and don’t even think about grabbing for the tweezers! Just like hair on your head, you’re going to go through an awkward stage when growing your eyebrows. Apply little makeup if your brows look especially wonky during this period. As the brows grow, let them.

Lastly, don’t freak out if a few brows fall out. If you see a hair or two on your facial wipe, that’s completely normal. With a little patience, you will enjoy fuller, natural eyebrows before you know it.
