Our hair experiences daily exposure to toxic elements in our environment and damage from washing it. As a result, it becomes dull, lifeless, and prone to breakage.
Moisturize Hair
Moisturizing your hair is essential to hair health. The more dry your hair becomes, the likelihood of further damage and breaking is heightened. Depending on the texture of your hair, different levels of moisturizing will be necessary. For coarse hair, deep condition at least once a week and leave it in for fifteen minutes to an hour with a cap. You can also add some heat from the blow dryer to intensify the conditioning process.
Coarse and tightly curled hair perform better after conditioning washes. Avoid towel drying, which can damage and make hair frizzy. For limp and oily hair, shampoo regularly. Avoid oils and heavy creams which can weigh down the hair. Instead, focus on keeping the scalp clean and free from heavy oils which makes the hair appear to look dirty and dull.
Trim Hair Regularly
Don’t worry. we aren’t talking about doing the major chop on a regular basis. On average, getting your ends trimmed every 6-8 weeks will eliminate split, dry ends and add life to hair. It will also help keep your hair healthy, which means that your hair will grow faster and become thicker over time.
When hair is healthy, it shines! Follow the aforementioned tips to keep your hair looking its best at all times. Be good to your hair and it will be good to you.
