Every girl needs to splurge on herself occasionally, and If she can get great hair out of the experience, all the better. That was my philosophy when I first held the bottle of Oribe Gold Lust Repair and Restore Shampoo. The price was a bit more than I typically spend on hair products, but I was in Midtown Manhattan in a New York state of mind, so I took the plunge and I’m glad I did.
Why my hair needed this
Let me tell you about my hair: back when perms were all the rage, it took four to five packages to get me those 80’s big hair curls. When I color my hair it typically takes three to four packages to get the job done.
My hair is also coarse though and has a tendency to be dry and frizzing is the result. So I picked up that black and gold bottle with all of its promises and decided to give it a whirl. The moment I took off the lid I was impressed. It has a light floral scent with a hint of warmth and the lather was luxuriously rich.
After a wash, my hair is difficult to comb through, but after applying the Oribe Gold Lust the shower comb slid right through. I noticed that the ends were moist and pliable even after it completely dried. As a huge plus, there was a lovely, natural bounce to it.
My bottom line: If you have dry hair and don’t mind paying a little more (around $50) this shampoo is a miracle worker.
