It’s always fun to look to the fashion runways for inspiration. More than you probably thought. We dug through spring 2017’s emerging fashion trends to find five glam looks you’ll want to copy.

Chunky Platforms

The ‘90s are back in the form of chunky platforms. Salvatore Ferragamo and Erdem were two of a handful of designers who are bringing back the Spice Girls-esque towering platform shoes. Whether you prefer yours as sandals or lace-up sneakers, you’ll be walking tall all season long.

Did you think khaki was only for those days at the office? This material can go so much further, as illustrated by Stella McCartney, Balenciaga, J. Crew, and more. Go beyond traditional pants with khaki button-down shirts, trench coats, bomber jackets, and even skirts.

Exposed Shoulders

With the warmer weather approaching, let your shoulders out to play! Many models on the spring 2017 runways were sporting all kinds of off-the-shoulder looks, from peekaboo shoulders to one-shouldered tops and dresses. Designers like Rodarte and Tibi are right on trend with this seasonal look.

This year, athleisure has moved from baggy pants and oversized shirts to skintight getups. As evidenced on the Dolce & Gabanna and Versace runways, athletic dresses, shorts, and shirts now hug the body. You’ll always be ready to hit the gym and show off those curves!

Stripes are back in a big way this spring. From Altuzarra, Givenchy, Banana Republic, and Proenza Schouler, many designers sent their models out in all varieties of stripes. Some were horizontal, others were vertical, and some were even diagonal. Stripes can be as thick or thin as you want. The beachier these look, the better.
