Recent years have been phenomenal for the men’s grooming market. Although products for men have been around as long as women’s, the men’s grooming industry is on the rise (a steep one too)! It was valued at $12.4 billion in 2015 and is set to reach an incredible $60.7 billion by 2020 in just the US market. With a little research, you will find numerous free articles on men’s fashion and style, but if Google isn’t your cup of tea, here’s a little list of opinions from the ladies to get you started.

Good Hygiene is Important

Beth Solano

According to the Manosphere blog, when it comes to a man’s overall attractiveness, 73% of women feel hygiene is more important than their physical features. Keeping your breath fresh, teeth brushed, hair trimmed, and regular use of deodorant is all you need. A little upkeep goes a long way!

Grooming and Style Adds to Attractiveness

William Stitt

The effort you put into your appearance is noted and appreciated by women according to Ties.com. On top of good hygiene, your grooming habits and style are all a part of overall attractiveness. There are infinite ways to styling yourself, but keep in mind the few fashion faux paus according to Ties.com:

  • Say “No” to Muscle Shirts: Unless you are actively working out, avoid the muscle shirts. Leave some to the imagination.
  • Keep your clothes clean: Keep any shirts, pants, or any other article of clothing free of food and sweat stains. This goes back to the point about hygiene.
  • Avoid Shorts in Either Extreme: Your shorts shouldn’t be too short or long. Ideally, your shorts should hit at or just above the knee.

Finding your style and improving your look is a learning process, so it’s okay if you don’t have it all figured out the first try. You may find that you prefer to grow a stylish beard while others completely forego it. Locking down your grooming kit, fashion and style will take time and the best is yet to come for the guys!
