Summertime is here! This means more time spent outside at barbeques, sports games, and the beach, of course. Before you head out for an exciting day of summer plans, make sure you’re well-groomed. By following these tips, you can always look and feel your best, even in the heat.
Trim those Pits
You probably don’t do much armpit maintenance during the rest of the year. It can be a jungle under there though, especially in the hot, swampy summer. Before you start sweating profusely, take a trimmer and cut down on your pit hair. You’ll smell better.
And Your Facial Hair
Simply put, the more hair you have, the more you’re going to sweat in the summer heat. If you have a full beard, you might trim it several inches. You may even opt to shave it off entirely and grow it back in the fall. Whatever makes you feel coolest and most comfortable, go for it.
Take Care of Your Feet
Sun’s out, feet out, right? Most people will don flip-flops or sandals all summer long. If you’re included in that pack, you should make sure your feet are in any condition to be shown off. You might want to invest in a hard skin buffer to get rid of all that dead skin.
Don’t Ignore your Lips
There’s no lip balms or other fancy pucker products in your medicine cabinet. You may leave your lips bare the rest of the year, but in the summer, you should reconsider that. Without melanin, lips can get dry and peely from the sun in a hurry. There are plenty of lip products for men that contain sunscreen and thus protection from UV rays. Make sure the SPF is 15 or higher.
Sunscreen Is a Must
Whether you’re young or old, a woman or a man, it doesn’t matter: you really should put on sunscreen whenever you go out. This isn’t just in the summertime, but the rest of the year. The heat and humidity often makes us feel like the sun is more intense in the summer, but its rays are beating down on you just as much in the spring, fall, and yes, even the winter. If you get into the habit of applying sunscreen daily now, you could carry this good behavior over the whole year.
If you need some extra help staying groomed and stylish this summer, we recommend you find a grooming salon or barbershop through Vagaro. You’ll sweat less and feel confident in the hands of a professional.
