We shouldn’t use more than one skincare product at a time, right? Well, we can, as long as the ingredients don’t clash and are used correctly. Little do we know, there are levels to using our favorite sunscreens, moisturizers, and anti-wrinkle creams. Here are tips to properly layer these products for your most beautiful skin yet.
Step 1: Begin with the Cleanser
Experts recommend starting and ending your day with cleanser to eliminate oil, dirt, and other pore-clogging contaminants. During this process, we’re also shedding away dead skin– the stuff we don’t want on our face anyway.
Step 2: Time to Exfoliate
Exfoliating goes hand-in-hand with the cleanser and can be done at the same time. If the cleanser already has exfoliating properties, do not exfoliate again. This could lead to agitated skin.
Step 3: Continue to Toner
Before putting on any makeup, always apply toner. The right toner rejuvinates and prevents the skin from drying out. For best results, use a toner with vitamin B and antioxidants properties. Those with an oily T-zone definitely should use toner!
Step 4: Apply Serums
Experts recommend making sure these are rife with vitamins, particularly vitamin C. An ingredient that minimizes wrinkles and risk of cancer.
Step 5: Moisturize, Moisturize, Moisturize
Apply conservatively. Our face has already gone through so much and there’s still more to come!
Step 6: Put on Eye Cream
Intended for twice-a-day usage, eye cream helps addresses appearance of wrinkles, puffiness, and dark circles. The skin around the eye is fragile, prone to dryness, and quicker to show age. Start this good habit early! Our future selves will thank us.
Step 7: Don’t Forget the Sunscreen
Whether it’s a cloudy day or a beautiful, sunny one, end your beauty routine with sunscreen. Apply makeup as desired and go out to enjoy the day!
